Please don’t ever change, I heard someone say,
What an awful thing to think, in nearly every way,
If one never ever changes, growth will always evade,
Like an unspoken broken promise and friendships never made.

Special love never blossoms, be fed to gain and grow,
a life filled with boredom stays, with no new things to know,
but wait! If change is not, or is it not?
an interesting question, an even more interesting thought.

If change means things will never be the same,
an adventure begun, will happily never end,
but if change never stops or it doesn’t come; does it not?
a fascinating and oh so perplexing thought.

What I may now do, is chance to change my mind,
so the things that hold me now, wonderfully will remain in time,
how artfully change has chanced to play,
a chance to ponder, a new chance to change.

For as life’s ups and downs will often show,
no matter the time, no matter the woe,
embracing all change, welcome or not,
is what makes life worth it, worthy to be fought.

And when I go to the place I deserve,
there will be one thing I know, one thing I’ve learned,
life will go on, no matter my thoughts,
and once again change, whether I’m here or not.
